HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR HURTADO FURNITURE
Each piece of HURTADO furniture is crafted from natural materials, meaning no two items are exactly alike. Variations in color, grain and markings are normal, and part of the beauty of fine wood.
Avoid direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure can bleach or discolor wood. Dark finishes may lighten, and lighter ones may darken.
Protect furniture from heat and dryness. Don’t place furniture near radiators or air conditioning vents. In dry environments—especially during winter—low humidity may cause veneers to crack or joints to loosen.
Use protective pads. Rubber or plastic items (such as electronics, calculators, phones, vinyl placemats or folders) may contain chemicals that damage lacquer. Use felt or fabric pads. Be cautious with adhesives—some contain chemicals that harm finishes.
Lift objects instead of dragging them. Always place items such as glasses, bookends, flowerpots or hot mugs on cloth or felt pads.
Rearrange accessories occasionally to prevent sunlight from creating faded spots.
Treat your furniture with care and attention — it’s made to be enjoyed for generations.
Dust regularly using a non-abrasive electrostatic duster or a slightly damp chamois leather cloth.
For greasy stains, use a non-abrasive liquid window cleaner.
Always wipe in the direction of the wood grain, then buff with a soft, dry cloth.
Avoid: silicone waxes, lemon oils, or any oily polishes.
Marble is porous and will stain if left unprotected.
Clean with mild detergent and warm water. Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth to remove residue.
If needed, repeat the process using white vinegar.
Apply non-yellowing paste wax regularly to polish and protect the surface.
Always use coasters to prevent rings from drinks or liquids.
Avoid abrasive cleaners. Wipe up spills immediately with a soft, damp cloth.
Leather is a natural material and may show variations in color, texture, or shading.
Dust regularly with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
Avoid aggressive cleaners like saddle soap or chemical products.
Lacquer-coated leather surfaces may be lightly waxed.
Suede should only be cleaned with a dry, stiff brush.
Completely avoid liquid spills on untreated suede or leather.
Vacuum regularly to remove dust. Down-filled cushions should be brushed, not vacuumed.
Rotate and reposition cushions for even wear.
For deep cleaning, consult a professional upholstery cleaning service.
Do not use tumble dryers — they may damage or shrink the fabric.
All fabrics may wear or fade over time. Their lifespan depends on usage and care.
Enjoy your HURTADO furniture — crafted to last, designed to inspire.
